A roller derby woman gets in a little over her head when she meets her number one fan.

At the end of February in 2020, my mother passed away. She was very headstrong and never gave up when she set her mind to something. A few weeks later, Leah Simmons sent me a script she was working on and wanted some pointers as I was the only person she knew who went to film school. It was rough, but I could see it in my head, and it was exactly the film I needed to make. After a few revisions, we were ready to start pre-production. I thought making a movie about powerful women would be the best thing I could do to honor the passing of the main matriarchal figure of my life. Not only was I making a film with primarily women characters, I was pushing for women behind the scenes. I decided very early on we needed a hot soundtrack. The soundtrack was only to feature women artists or women fronted bands across multiple genres. While putting together the soundtrack, indie rock artist Kristen Ford and hip hop artist E-Turn (recently awarded best hip hop artist in Orlando) ended up not only contributing to the soundtrack, but also appearing in the film. Behind the camera, we had women working on sound, special effects, make up, production assistants, and still photography. My dream in life, as far as I can remember, was to make a feature film, and I never gave up. In the end, I feel I put together a film my mother would have been proud of. I wish she could have been here to see it.
